Palms do not handle deceleration trauma well

Went out to the car to retrieve my jacket, which had my beloved Palm VII in it.
As I was closing the car door, the Palm slipped out of my pocket, fell about two feet, and landed on it's back. "OK", I thought, "a little road rash on the back, but that's it...".
Nope. Here's the poor victim, with his Advance Exchange
cousin in the process of being prepped to pinch-hit for him.
Mental note:
Palms do not handle deceleration trauma well at all.
