The Palm Graveyard

TombStone

Death With Dignity?

Victim: Bill Rhodes
Date added: 6/29/2000

Fuggadabouwit. Not in NYC. When we (a bunch of programmers) were faced with disposing a deceased palm III, what could be more natural than a soccer game in the slick marble hallway? Hiking boots, sneakers and loafers passed, shot and scored with this poor broken body for almost a half hour, until the other, neighboring, offices complained. The scarred and battered body was then carried to the East River for burial at sea. That brave body now resides in the black muck below 38ft of green-brown water, its electronic soul lives on, thanks to hot synch, in a newer palm III.
Oh, for the record, applications won over sales, natch.
