Comments on: Novatel & Sprint to Release New CDMA Modem

Novatel Wireless, maker of the Minstrel line of wireless modems, and Sprint PCS, the fastest-growing all-digital, all-PCS voice and data nationwide wireless network, today announced plans to release the Merlin Wireless PC Card, using Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology for Sprint PCS and a handheld solution for the Palm V series. The solution is a sleeve that will let the PC card work in conjunction with the Palm. No release date or price is available right now.

most likely released (or showed) once the new Palms are revealed. If they said it will fit the Palm V form factor, then that must imply that it'll fit the new Palms also...which means current V accessories should fit the new palm....

or am i reading too much into this?

i think you are reading a bit too much into that...

the article mentions they are releasing a PC (therefore PCMCIA?) card and sleeve adaptor for the V. As far as I understand, the serial adaptor on the new M505 is going to be different then the current V series. Further, one would have to hope that a new modem for the M505 would use the SD slot and not a PCMCIA sleeve....
