The company made its reputation by providing industry-standard hardware slots and the new device lives up to this legacy, and then some. In addition to the expected CompactFlash slot and the rumored MMC one, the new handheld will offer an SD slot, a PC Card slot, and in a stunning move, a SpringBoard slot.

Had my attention for at while, at least for a few lines. Wondered why Handera would released an overclocked machine. Then realized it's April fools. Nice article, well-written including the mock up unit. Not all of this story is fake...
I did see a guy in the gutter in Lipsig, wearing a dress and clutching a rag dolly. RE: april foolsI.M. Anonymous @ 4/1/2001 12:58:44 PM #

Currently on vacation in Scottsdale, AZ and woke this morning to find the new HandEra on sale at the local BestBuy! The store is located in The Pavillions shopping center on Pima Road. It is a small ad in the Sunday BestBuy Sales Circular, so I went over the the BestBuy to see if they had any in stock. They only had an initial allocation of one pallet (175 devices) so they will sell out quick! Price is set at $449 but there is a $99 rebate with a years subscription to MSN. See Bill in the PDA department. I got mine, it is in the charger now....Can't wait to get online with my PCMCIA cable modem! RE: New HandEra available at BestBuy in Arizona!!!I.M. Superb job! Bravo! Given how excited I have been about the potential release of this product, I fell for it hook-line-and-sinker ;-) I think I began to wise up when I read the 640x640 resolution. Preying on the hopes and dreams of innocent PDA lovers... I love it ;-)

Damn and blast you - you got me with that picture ! Quite well done I must say. Keep on the good work ! RE: Image
In case you are curious, the picture is a heavily edited photo of an m505. I just took all the curves out of it and made it a boxier shape. I thought it came out surprisingly well, considering my limited PhotoShop skills.

you neglected to fill in some important details about this new handera... does it have the 64mb ram, built-in wireless capability and voice command recognition that we were expecting? if not then i'm probably just gonna stick with the visor twist that i got last weekend (yes, during the new compusa rebate snafu).

though, i hoped the handera would have overclock cpu, 16bit color screen and still have the CF slot
