Hmm... gives a whole new meaning to "flash" memory. RE: Raincoats???
Geek chic. I embarrassed to say I'm intrigued. After a collague said she left her visor home because it wouldn't fit in the bag she was taking to church. I'd have stayed home from church rather than leave the visor. My basic requirement for a bag is that it must hold by mobile phone and both my palms
I guess this is when you know that a consumer device has truley "made it": when you start seeing stories about said device with the words "upcoming Fall 2001 Collection " in them.

Pocket watches drove the development of
the fifth pocket on jeans -- that little one on the right. Perhaps, a hundred years from now, all raincoats will have Palm pockets due to turn-of-the-millenium PDAs.

But it's still kind of silly to talk about a pocket having to be "specially designed" for a Pilot. To mind, all that's necessary is sufficient size (almost a given) and a velcro or similar closure at the top so you can bend down without losing your PDA. Oh, and it needs to be on the inside, of course.
The typical "cigarette pocket" in most coats is generally good enough.
If you are curious what one of the 'Designed for Palm' raincoats looks like:
