The serial port on the V is the limitation so no cable can give it full USB speed. We'll have to wait for the m500 series for this. The advantage of connecting it to the USB port on the laptop is the USB port can both HotSync and charge the battery, which the serial port can't do. This means one cable not two.
Can anyone who has any one of these tell me how quickly it can charge the Palm?

Drivers for Mac are available at http://shop.brando.com.hk/p5usbsynccharger.php. I haven't tried it yet, I just found it today, and am about to buy the cable. RE: Powerbook compatible?I.M. Anonymous @ 1/17/2002 2:09:55 AM #

Palm V series has an RS232 serial port, so it's limit is 115,200 or 115 Kbps. With this cable, your max throughput will be 115Kbps.
