"Just as Microsoft's Access and Excel have provided workers with flexibility when they work with their data on the desktop, the teaming of HanDBase and Quicksheet empowers mobile professionals with more choices in how they work with data on their handheld computers," said Michael Compeau, Cutting Edge Software's vice president of business development and planning.

They read my mind. I'll take my HanDBase 'monthly reports', move it to QuickSheet, then QuickChart, then print, then hand it to my boss. Given the synergy between Quick Office and Handera, I'm sure the next release of HanDBase will support 240x320 as well as landscape mode. Now I just need an Infrared passthru parallel printer cable. Anybody seen this for sale on the web? David in Pflugerville, Texas Office for Palm...I.M. Anonymous @ 5/16/2001 8:08:53 PM #
Arguably the best spreadsheet and the best database joining forces and exchanging data. This is fantastic! Next thing we'll hear about is CES buying DDH or vice versa. Passthrough IR

For IR printing, look at Bachmann's InfraReady Adapter http://www.bachmannsoftware.com/infraready.htm
I've tried out Quickdata. Pretty cool. This should be great for using in my business. Enter in sales records in HanDBase, then send them on over to Quicksheet and chart them, sort them, etc. Gotta like that.

I am a loyal user of both programs. I downloaded it last night and tried to use it but it didn't work. Now please don't flame me, because this collusion is the cats meow but will somebody explain why? I tried to convert from handbase to quicksheet. I saved the new DB to a new workbook and pressed OK. Please explain Thanks RE: Great concept, but doesn't work for me???I.M. Anonymous @ 5/17/2001 8:58:16 AM #
Did you give the file a name?
Honestly, this is so easy, I haven't been ABLE to screw it up...
It is good news to hear that the palm users can share data between HanDBase and Quicksheet. But how much do I have to pay? RE: the price?I.M. Anonymous @ 5/17/2001 7:58:03 PM #
a quick visit to either website would have answered your question. Free. Duh. RE: RFAI.M. Anonymous @ 5/17/2001 8:30:55 PM #
A quick look at the first sentence of this article would have told you the same thing. Looks like both of you missed it. Double duh.
It`s good news.I can convert the workbook of Quicksheet to HanDBase.But I can`t convert the database to Quicksheet.It doesn`t work.Why? RE: Only single directionI.M. Anonymous @ 5/18/2001 9:02:09 AM #
I have no idea why it wouldn't work for you. When you launch Quickdata (or QSConvert as it shows up in my Applications screen), the check box defaults to the "HanDBase to Quicksheet" convert direction. I selected a HanDBase database from the lower pulldown menu, and tapped on Convert. I then saved the new workbook (named it) and clicked on OK. When it finished converting, I opened up Quicksheet and voila! There it was! Easy as pie. I can't imagine a process that simple not working for any reason. UPDATED IT WORKS NOW!!!I.M. There is a new updated zip file at: http://www.cesinc.com/integration/quickdata.html If you were having problems, get updated zip file and it take care of it. This is a great tool! Load the qsimport file instead of quickdataI.M. Anonymous @ 5/18/2001 9:44:24 PM #
Friends, I posted the earliest regarding my difficulties (ha) of converting from handbase to quicksheet. I downloaded the new zip version and it still didn't work until I tried loading the qsimport file instead. Now it works fine. Can't say why the quick data file doesn't seem to work on some users' machines???? Excellent software, now a person really doesn't need to go through the handbase desktop once the program and all the relational databases are logically connected. Straight up to excel, yippee RE: Only single directionI.M. Anonymous @ 5/18/2001 10:43:18 PM #
Yes, the readme file states that you need to load both prc files located in the zip file, then it works like a champ! RE: Only single directionI.M. Anonymous @ 5/19/2001 10:45:25 PM #

Couldn't wait to try the power of Quickdata !
This synergy is going to create a strong competitive advantage over DocToGo suite. Let's see if this will initiate a war for excellence.
Ultimately, we the users, are going to benefit.
