3.30c11 does NOT have support for extended memory.

I am a Beta Testing the new BibleReader with the Extended Memory support for Olivetree, but they have not made it publicly available on their www site yet, so it would appear that Ed's announcement is going to cause confusion (Ed, you listening?).

The extended memory support is working fine in the beta now by the way and one of the nice things about it is you can use the large single-file Bible databases originally made for the PocketPC (instead of the multiple fileset versions).

It doesn't. The bible reader does work from the SD cards, but it cannot read the bibles on the SD card. I have already sent an email to Olivetree reference this, no response as of yet.

Otherwise what is the purpose?!!#

I have a Clie, and it works just fine reading the Bible from the memory stick, with the reader in RAM.

I dont know of they are an authorized seller, but I order many other hardware pieces from them (hard drives, memory, etc). They are very efficeient and compete with the best (Buy.com, Outpost) in prices. I have never had a problem with them after 10+ orders. I would have ordered my 505 from them, but Fry's in Arizona got 'em first. :)

While its true, that presumably the graduates will subscribe to Palm.net, they can use them as regular non-wireless Palms. More likely, the CEO trying to 'seed' the graduates so that they get acquainted with Palm devices. Who knows, one of these graduates get to be a 'bigshot' in the corporate world someday. And besides Palm had excess inventory anyway, so...

I guess they will do anything to get rid of the extra inventory! Hey, Palm, how about giving ME a free VIIx?! I could really use the extra memory, my original rev. VII is almost full!

How about a trade-in program? Bring in your VII and for ~$50 get a VIIx. Or bring in your V and get a Vx for ~$50, too. This would get Palm at least some cash for these units.

Go to PalmPilotUpgrade.com - they can give you 8 megs for $79. They're supposed to be reliable, though I've never used them.

I have one which I use to back-up my Palm IIIx when I'm on the road (I use Flashpro to put it the memory safe software in flash ram so that I can access the module if I have a hard reset). You can use it to store rarely used files,on your Palm, then delete it from your Palm freeing up memory. When you restore it to your Palm, you need to have sufficient free space. I'm happy with the solution until I get my Handera 330.

It is an imperfect solution as it is in my opinion primarily designed as a full backup (unlike Axxpacc or the Springboards) because:
1) While apps are clearly distinguishable, their databases are not (they are all lumped together as Other files)
2) It is slow as it uses the serial connection
3) It can crash (ie hard restore required) if you try and restore some apps to RAM when cetain PDB files (native to that app) is already in RAM

You're better off expanding the RAM to 8
