HandAble.com has run across something perfect for people whose kids always want to play with their handheld. Palm has teamed up with CDI Toys to produce a Palm-branded toy (it doesn't do anything but make noise and make a little kid think they have a real one). It's not listed on the CDI Toys site. -Bradly Barton

AsiaBizTech did some tests and found out that the Sony N710C has far and way the best battery life of any handheld capable of playing MP3s and movies, beating the iPaq, Cassiopeia E-700, and several others. -AriB

Pocket PC's are terrible with battery life, especially when playing media!

I suspect that the phrase "any of the award winners" is really a typo for "many of them aware winners."

Yes, I was trying to say "many of them award winners". In the middle of writing that I learned Handspring had just dropped all their prices and I just wanted to get this finished as quickly as possible. It's also a classic example of how a spell checker can fail you. Two mistakes in a short phrase but no misspellings. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out.

Ok, Palm has beaten them all: two days ago they buy Be to expand their multimedia capabilities. What do we see today? A new Palm model that makes sounds ;-) Is that quick or what? Oh yeah, they also seem to have a deal with AOL: it says 'You've got mail' on the box ;-)

I'm wondering how big it is. I mean, could you take the guts out of that and stick your real m10x's guts into it? that would be nifty. Hot pink, sure. But nifty nonetheless.
On a similar note, if I had an m10x, I'd get this just for that amazing pink case with a bow. Yowza!

I'm the one who sent the picture in.. my 6 year old daughter got this as a gift since her 11 year old brother recently saved up his pennies and bought an m105 for himself...

Yes, this toy is about the same size as the m100. I suppose if you were really feeling adventurous, you could switch the "guts".. but that's not a job I'd want. :)

The hot pink carrying case will fit the m10x series as well... but I can't convince an 11 year old boy to use it!

The box shows a purple one, as well.. my sister said she found it at Wal-mart, but also saw it at Target.

A coworker said there are pink and purple ones at Target locally. Bought on of the pink ones and brought it in. It makes cool sounds and would be fun for young kids.
