World's Smallest Computer PDA... The onHand PC at www.onHandPC.com

If you're like many people today, you probably rely on your computer to manage life's myriad details. Your information is organized, but not very portable. But now with just a touch of a button, you can transfer important data from your computer to the onHand PC - the computer you wear on your wrist.

With the onHand PC, your important data is always within reach. The onHand PIM software works with Windows 95/98. It manages several types of information including: schedules, addresses, phone numbers, job lists, and text memos. PIM information can be entered and edited with the onHand PC. What's more, data can be synchronized (shared) easily between a personal computer or another onHand PC via an infrared port!

The world's smallest computer is also one heck of a timekeeper. The onHand PC not only gives you convenient access to your most important data - it'll also tell you what time it is in lots of different ways.

Ever find yourself needing to do some quick math, but didn't have a calculator around? The onHand PC comes loaded with handy, functional software that's available when you need it. At the touch of a button you have access to a calculator, a countdown timer with alarm, and a chronograph for precise measurement of seconds, minutes and hours.

And of course, the onHand PC comes preloaded with a variety of fun and interesting games to keep you busy when things get slow.
Use the included PC docking station to quickly backup and exchange information between your computer and your onHand PC and complete onHand PC function setups. The docking station connects to your PC in seconds, allowing you to synchronize to a number of popular PIM programs like:

Microsoft Outlook 97/98/2000
Microsoft Schedule + 7.0, 7.0a and 7.5
Symantec ACT! 3.0, 4.0, and 2000
Lotus Organizer 97GS, 4.0 and 5.0
Goldmine 2.5, 3.0, 3.2 and 4.0
3Com Palm DeskTop 2.0 and 3.0

Extremely compact and functional, the onHand PC provides all the popular features of palm-type devices at a fraction of the size. This remarkable product allows instant access to all your important information including addresses, phone numbers, text files, memos, and schedules. With onHand PC you can view your to-do list, add appointments to the calendar, use the calculator to balance your checkbook, or simply relax and play games. Oh yes, you can also use it to tell time...

With its ultra slim design, you can carry all your important information in style with the onHand PC.

hello

Fantastic....

Tex Arcana @ 1/14/2000 5:18:38 PM #
I recieved my onHand in December, and could not be more pleased.

Bottom line:

If you have a need for quick access to portable info, and don't mind giving up your current watch, it is fantastic.
While not the prettiest of all watches, it is certainly the most functional.

Drawbacks:

The sync'ing s/w is cumbersome and somewhat buggy.
The data entry interface needs some fine tuning, as it is cumbersome as well.

Does it take a long time to enter information on the watch? I mean if you just found out that you have a meeting with an outside contracter on Feb. 14 and wanted to enter it on the watch pc, how long would it take to enter it on the PDA using only the watch and not typing it and syncing it on the computer.

Entering data doesn't take that long. The little joystick works great with the onscreen keyboard, and there is a list of common words ("meeting," "Monday," ect) that you can pick from (and add to via the desktop software).

Math Pad and Scientific Calculator

The scientific programs "MathPad" used on the Palm device and a scientific calculator will be very useful additions.

Very pleased

I got my OnHand a week ago and have been very pleased with it.
It is a little bulkier than a watch and so can excite comment
but it functions well and is easy to use.

Software

You can download software from the Japanese website. http://www.ruputer.com" CLASS=NEWS TARGET=_NEW>http://www.ruputer.com

Ruputer is the japanese name for this watch. Other than some of the system software, the watches are identical, and there is a much wider variety of software available on the Japanese site.

I am now trying to figure out which files to replace in order to display japanese text, but I will need to get the files from someone who has the Japanese watch I think.

Do you feel the onhand pc is worth the current $300.00 asking price? How bulky is it to wear? I'm very tempted to buy. I love the features of the watch. However, I am a bit concerned with the price and bulk - especially if cheaper and less bulky models are in the near future. Should I buy? Any advise you could give would be helpful. Thanks.

The bulk is actually cool. Sure it stands out a little, but people think it's cool. The clear plastic gives it a cool look, and when they see the games they bug out.

If you get the 99 service pack you can access options and change the font to Japanese, allowing you to see the Japanese fonts with Ruputer apps!
