Nice URL, shame about the content.

Good to see that your spellchecker has been fixed, if only somewhat.

You still need to change the site content - all the graphics and page titles still use that hideously wrong spelling.

Uhhh..... He's not going to make two sets of every graphic. It's the same thing with apple.com, if you type in imac.com, or some other apple product names, it still goes to apple.com. It's a lot of work to seitch around every spelling of the word infocentre, so just be happy Ed shelled out $50 bucks or whatever to make it easier for those crazy-spelling Australians and English.

And Canadians! I always have to remember how to spell it the American way if it's not a favourite on the computer on which I am logged in.

Alas, yet another problem with those squeezed by the Pacific and Atlantic oceans (Apologies to the Canadians, I deeply sympathise with you).

It seems that some cannot take that which is said tongue-in-cheek.

Incorrect spelling? heh.. whatever, center will always be c-e-n-t-e-r. Even for those in the god forsaken arctic land up north. Oh, and while I am on a rant, it's C-O-L-O-R, not colour or however the hell people try to molest the word.

I.M. Anonymous @ 11/9/2001 1:14:29 PM #
molest?!! I think you've forgotten where the language is from.

Anyway, I think it's really nice of Palminfocenter to cater to ppl using the original spelling.

"came from" = upgrade, improve, make better.. let's all scroll our writings on stone while we're at it.

Don't forget about Centre County PA. It's the home of Penn State Main Campus and everything in the area is spelled the traditional way.

I would like to point out that the form of English spoken by the residents of the USA is more archaic than that spoken by the rest of the world.

A few centuries ago, the English Monarchy decided to change the English language so that it would be more similar to French. Why they would want to do that, I honestly have no idea.

You Americans, not being overly fond of the French, decided that you wanted to stick with the old way of doing things. Therefore, you have not only an outdated way of measuring things (Also known as Imperial. Great to see that you guys are still under the thumb of the olde British Empire), but an antiquated language too.

C'est la vie. :-P

Outdated language? Don't make me laugh. The world has adopted this 'outdated language' as the international business language. Businessmen far and wide use english to communicate, and I am referring to American English, not limey english. Countless numbers of countries have began teaching American English as a first language in their school systems. So, come down off your pedistle, young one!

God Bless the USA!

> So, come down off your pedistle, young one!

I believe the word is 'pedestal'

And if the world has adopted your English in particular, then I greatly fear its future.

But then again, it would be a much more amusing place if it adopted Engrish.

"Pedistle" is the new US version of the word. As time passes the US will revise the language further in the manner that light has become lite and through thru

America will become Amerka. And to save confoosin poor Merkans, skools will lern poopills that Canada is also Amerka (*heehee*)

My apologies (apollo-jeez) to all those (them, y'all) in the US. Having lived there (their they're) for two (to, too) years, and even taught (lerned teached, teeched) skool kidz in Maryland, I think I am allowed (aloud) to mock you (u) a little (litel)

QuickOffice upgrade

I.M. Anonymous @ 11/9/2001 10:04:25 AM #
Unfortunately, Cutting Edge has provided has provided no clear instructions as to how HandEra 330 owners can register and get the upgrade. I e-mailed them once and the only response they've given me on how to register did not work. Subsequent e-mails have gone unanswered. I've seen various posts from other HandEra 330 owners who are having the same problems.

Just go to the www.cesinc.com homepage and click VERSION UPGRADE. If you haven't registered your HE330 version of software yet then first you need to register under HANDERA REGISTRATION

It's all in the patch of yellow on the top right.

Thanks, but that link apparently just goes to the same page I've been trying to register from for the last week. I tried it again, but I'm doubtful of the results.

Once you've been registered into the database on the REGISTER page, then go to the VERSION UPGRADE page and you'll be sent out an email with the link to download.

It's the HandEra release of QO5.6 (as the top article explains).

I have had the same problem. I have registered several times and get error messages back and have tried to upgrade and still bet messages back about being unregistered.

Now I'm pactically getting spammed from them with e-mails that "the serial number you presented to register Quicksheet appears to be already registered." I've seen some posts where people say they've had to call them to get this resolved. I guess if they don't fix this soon, calling them is the next step. Very annoying though.

RE: QuickOffice upgrade
svdberg @ 11/12/2001 3:15:14 PM #
I am having exactly the same problem, after registering with serial "Handera" (as suggested by HandEra support) I got an email from Cutting Edge Software with the phrase:

"The serial number you presented to register Quicksheet appears to be already registered."

I replied to this, but no answer yet.

I've experienced the same problem getting my upgrade for QuickOffice that came with my HandEra 330. After having my registration rejected because somebody already had used my serial number (that b*st*rd!) I emailed all pertinent information to Cutting Edge and then waited, and waited, and waited. After five days I gave up and telephoned technical support at Cutting Edge. They asked for my name, email address, mailing address, and the serial number off my HE330. They then emailed me a link and some passwords for the upgrade.

I'm downloading the upgrade now, so I don't know if it will work, but I hope that QuickSheet isn't so buggy.
