Comments on: Cases for Sony T Series Coming Soon

When a new handheld comes out, it usually takes a while before a good collection of accessories is available and Sony's T series is no exception. Several cases will be released in the next few weeks.

InnoPocket is currently working on a hardcase for the T615C that it plans to release next month. It's an aluminium case that opens to the side that has slots to allow access to the Memory Stick slot, IR port, and Jog Dial. It will be available on March 15 for $30.

I swear I saw one of these at Best Buy Ann Arbor on the rack already. Maybe it wasn't for the T series but I thought it said T on it. I'll look today if I get around to it.

hardcase. it could've been for the edge, but it wasn't near all the handspring stuff :)

It seems that one of the best handhelds palm OS PDA'a out there lacks accessories in a bad way; especially the cases. Does anyone argue that despite a terrific product developed by Sony they have dropped the ball with the lack of peripherals available. By the way I live in Vancouver, BC, Can. which makes availability of existing Sony Clie extras even worse!

when Palm was the only PalmOS hardware around it was easy for developers to make the decision to support it with accesories but now that the market is fragmenting developers having to make tough decisions. while my wife's Sony T615 is amazing it still has (along with all of Sony's models) under 10% marketshare in the PalmOS world, and that means a lot less accesories and cases sold.

as for Sony they have cases out for the T series and have since day 1.

I too live in Surrey, BC, Can so I'm close enough to feel your pain. Even the Sony Store don't have any idea when they can get some accessories.

I asked Vaja about a week ago if they were going to make a case for the T-series and they said they weren't sure yet.

Ditto. They actually told me that they had "no plans to make a case for the T615C". That sounds like a far cry from the info in the above article.

Ed, who at Vaja told you there would be a case by the end of February?

I spoke with EB today and they informed me that the first shipment is going out today for the non-belt clip model. For those of us that ordered the belt clip model they are hoping those will be ready early next week.
