Comments on: Quickies: Tetris, Cables, Vindigo, NR Series, and More

All tetris-clones, like Shape Fall, Petra-Luna, PalmTris, MegaTets, TetriksPlus, and bloc, were recently removed from PalmGear and Handango as "unauthorized games that blatantly infringe the TETRIS® copyrights and/or trademark". -SP2

Mark/Space is now offering cables that allow Palm models with the Universal Connector or the Sony S and N series to HotSync or connect to a GPS receiver, printer, mobile phone, etc. -PR

Tetris Clones...Vindigo for Mac Etc.

C @ 5/14/2002 9:47:56 AM #
First Ardiri then Tetris I don't get it. Okay tetris is boring but I think people should have a choice if they want tetris as software, shareware or freeware. I wonder how much a license is for tetris? Anybody know?

Vindigo 2.0 for the Mac it's been a long time coming but you know what? I don't care I'm not going to pay for Vindigo I never had a reason to use it before. Anyway I use Avantgo. Oh well. Just my opinion. :-P

I agree that all TETRIS clones should be removed. Anyone profiting from TETRIS should be forced to payup to the intellectual property holders.

Maybe this will stop the endless TETRIS, 5-in-a-row, tic-tac-toe games plaguing handhelds.

Okay, so who owns the copyright or to the idea behind Tic-Tac-Toe. I'm sure whoever he is, he's long dead and won't mind people programming new versions.

The Russian falling blocks game I don't think was invented by the folks who wrote the computer game. You can even get it in board game format.

Of course, I don't argue that there seems to be far too many of these games around. But if they're not any good, I just won't play them...

They might not be able to patent the game itself.
But they probably trademark the name Tetris.
So you should be able to write the same game,
but with a different name.

Let me know if I am wrong.

Things like patens have a its life span.

After a certain time, you can write the exactly
same thing without any trouble.

Avantgo is not the same as Vindigo...

I've been waiting for the OS X version of Vindigo for a little while. It's popped up just in time as I'm off on a trip to NYC next week! It'll come in handy... :)

After installing without a hitch, they got my money...with a discount too...

Nice to see this stuff coming out at long last... :)

graffiti skin screenshot?

I don't have an NR70, but I'm curious as to what these skins look like and what they can do for the user. Can the skins change the arrangement of buttons on the skin, or just the appearance of them? Can anyone post a screenshot of the PIC (or any other) skin for others to see? Thanks!

They change the appearance of the virtual grafitti area...more a personal customization than anything else...

This website has 20 of them...more coming daily...and this site has step by step Photoshop instructions on how to create them using Photoshop...

Hope this helps...
