Comments on: RhinoSkin Developing Three Cases for the Sony T665C (Updated)

RhinoSkin is planning to release a hardcase and two leather cases for the Sony T665C. All three should be available on Monday, September 9. The company is taking pre-orders for these now at $30. After they are released the price will jump to $35.

The aluminium hardcase will have openings to allow the user to access the buttons on the left side and the headphone jack. There will also be ones on the top to allow the Memory Stick slot, infrared port, and the stylus to be used. On the bottom will be one that will allow the T665C to be HotSynced with a cable. Its interior will be padded for extra protection.

The aluminum case seems exactly like the one innopocket is selling.

It is because they both buy them from the same Taiwanese manufacturer.

Hardcase hazards

I read several posts complaining that some rhinoskin cases have scratched the very PDAs they were sworn to protect.

I like the leather portfolio case though.

Any Clear Vinyl cases out there NR70 in particluar ?

I just want a very simple, very thin skintight clear vinyl case.

Something that would add virtually zero to the size, but stop the case being scratched while in my pocket alongside keys etc.

Anyone know of such cases.

WARNING: Try before you buy

For those not already familiar with Rhinoskin's previous hardcases for Palm III, V, etc., just make sure you actually hold one of these cases in your hand and try it on your own handheld before you buy one. Some people are very pleased with them (they do seem very sturdy), while others such as myself are exceedingly displeased due to perceived damage to the handheld and extreme difficulty of use. This is not an attempt to talk anybody out of buying one, just a warning that Rhinoskin cases are a "love it or hate it" type of item. This is not something to order sight unseen, at least based on their previous products.
