I bought my first Palm (a US Robotics Palm Pilot 1000) in Brazil, 1996. Palm established a presence there in 2000, but the product was available way before.

Does this mean the loss of American jobs?
As far as I know, Sony manufactures the Clie only in Japan; at least they are considerate of their country.

Guys,

This manufacturing is amimed first at supplying the Latin American market. But about laughing about it, please make sure you know your facts before making fun.
Brazil is the largest consumer of electronics in Latin America, and several companies have their Latin American or South Americans manufacturing centers there. Some of them are:

Sony, Philips, Panasonic, HP, LG, Samsung, Siemens, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Flextronics, IBM, Dell
