Thanks for arranging this discount with PalmGear. I'm heading off now to go shopping.

...and I didn't even say "first post" :-)
Palmary @ 10/9/2003 12:41:06 AM #
Just bought The Oxford Dictionary (American English rather than The Queen's English, but what the heck) and saved $3. Now I can spell everything purfectly.

But over on ClieSource this is a special deal they arranged. Hmmm... maybe it's just a marketing thing, ya think? :-) Thanks for the discount just the same, but lets call it that, a discount to anyone on any Palm related web site. Shall we start a thread on other sites we see this 'special thanks' discount on?
Now, before everyone cuts my head off... it was very nice of Kenny at PalmGear to do a discount for us, but let's call an apple an apple instead of a red orange.

My wife has to sell a lot of candles (www.ccandles.com) to buy her new Palm.
Looking a gift horse...

Let's be realistic. Prices at PalmGear are at an all time high. I've reached the point where I'm not buying anymore. A discount is nice and all, but how about them not inflating the prices to begin with?!

As an FYI.. Prices for software are not now and never have been set by PalmGear. They are determined by the developer of the software. This is true of pretty much all Palm OS sites out there. The only time we affect the pricing is when we run a promotional discount.

Gar @ 10/9/2003 9:49:36 AM #
Prices are high on PalmGear because developers have to set their prices high Kenny. It has to do with that little item you have in your contract that says you can discount a software title without asking the permission of the developer is they want to have their software on your site. Of course they are going to bump their prices up if they want to make anything when/if you decide to discount the title.

thats true. And if your to cheap to pay the average 10-30bucks for a palm program.. That's sad.. :P

Shouldn't it be "Thanks Ryan?"

<><
Oo! Oo! More Complaining!
Quik_Fix @ 10/9/2003 11:44:17 AM #
1)Ed works at brighthand.com now. Thanks RYAN

2)RYAN didn't have to mention it at all; don't be an ingrate.

3)Kenny doesn't have to give discounts. Thanks KENNY.

4)They RARELY do give discounts, so there's no developers cowering in the corners with a dagger trying to defend a handful of pennies.

5)If you don't want to buy stuff at palmgear, don't.

6)The CIA might still be under your bed reporting your actions to Microsoft.

Why can't we be happy about anything? Does everything have to be a conspiracy theory? Can't we be happy for a friggin discount without having to rip on Kenny or anyone else?

Oh my God. They found me. I dunno how but they found me...
RUN FOR IT MARTY!

I have had my morning coffee...

Thank Kenny for the discount. I'm sure I speak for the whole of the Palm comunity when I say thanks for sticking with PalmGear through thick and thin to allow us a spot to see thousands upon thousands of great software titles for the Palm OS. It's a great place to keep any eye on like PI here everyday to see what is new.
Keep up the great work.
I was only blowing off because it always seems like PalmGear has to have an excuse for what they do. Just saying thanks to everyone on the boards and here is a discount for being a loyal Palm User would be fine. No need to wrap it up on each site like it has something to do with the site.
Love this site too... it's nice to see the updates back up to speed, everyday new items. Was worried a short time ago that this site was going to go away. Whew!

I would like to thank Kenny, too; I have no idea why people are so mean-minded they have to take jabs at such a nice offer. I went right off and registered Shadow Plan and Pocket Lingo Pro, and am a very happy camper!

Code does not work

capuns @ 10/9/2003 3:34:21 PM #
I just wanted to buy some programs, but the code "palminfocenter" does not work.

What's wrong?

RE: Code does not work
Altema @ 10/9/2003 4:05:15 PM #
I just purchased SnapperMail for my wife, and the code did not work for me. Got charged the same price as on the product page. I'm sure PG can sort this out though... they have always done so quickly in the past.

Admin @ 10/9/2003 5:29:53 PM #
hmm, I'll let them know
RE: Code does not work
Admin @ 10/9/2003 5:37:57 PM #
ok, just heard back from Kenny, the code should work fine now
RE: Code does not work
Altema @ 10/9/2003 11:39:25 PM #
I was already charged the other price, guess I'll have to contact them about an adjustment.

Now it worked.

Thanks for helping!
