Comments on: Classic 1.1 Released for webOS

Classic Palm PreMotionApps has updated their Classic application for webOS. The new version brings a number of improvements to the Palm Pre Palm OS emulator. MotionApps says they have added experimental sound support (SndStream API, midi), a pinch/zoom feature, improved keyboard behavior, improved application and data loading, enhanced preferences and overall stability improvements. If you are experiencing problems after updating to webOS v1.0.3, they have posted a FAQ response on how to resolve the blue screen issue.

Classic v1.1 is a free update to registered users. It is available via the built in App Catalog. It comes with a free seven day trial and sells for $29.99.

As a matter of fact I am posting from my Pre right now. (And I did so for the previous post in this thread as well.)

How come the one minute delay between repeated posts? Did you do that manually?

Hmmm...I don't think I'm going to continue with this line of thought.

Giggle.

Bueller? Any Classic users?

mikecane @ 6/22/2009 4:32:03 PM # Q
Anyone left here at PIC who actually *owns* a Pre, uses it, and also uses Classic too?

Present. What do want to know? Or is this just a more subtle way of spreading FUD.

If "some" were to be believed, there weren't going to be any Pres sold, what with it being vaporware and all.

Hey Palm! Where's my PDA with Wifi and phone capabilities?

Didn't you know? It still is vaporware, apparently!

Improved stability?

Tuckermaclain @ 6/22/2009 6:38:57 PM # Q
Improved stability? Maybe I'm being unrealistic but I take stability to be a given. To me this means they've removed some of the bugs.

Not yet ready for prime time.

Not if you're using Palm devices it isn't!

Classic for Pre or Classic for iPhone? Could evolve to Pre for iPhone?

I can't imagine Apple would allow anything like Classic to run on the iPhone.

Hey Palm! Where's my PDA with Wifi and phone capabilities?

That C=64 rejection was a real frikkin downer.

Now to see if someone will do an Atari ST emulator that also incorporates the MagicSac tech and pirated Mac ROMS so that we can run System 3.x on the iPhone!

Someone will come up with a Pre Jailbreak, just a matter of time.

docs to go?

dustbunny44 @ 6/23/2009 12:52:11 PM # Q
I've been disconnected from this space for some time. This is probably an old question, but when does Dataviz estimate DTG will be available for the Pre?
Or will a current DTG run on this version of the emulator?
Thanks for your patience.
