Handmark has released a new version of its Pocket Express news, entertainment and information app. The company has also decided to make the formerly $60/y application available for free. Pocket Express offers users mobile optimized access to news, sports, weather, travel info, horoscopes stocks and more. Handmark also now plans a version with local content for European users with content in eight languages - English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Finnish, and Swedish.
Pocket Express v4.25 is available now from the PIC store or direct from Handmark. It is compatible with most devices running Windows Mobile or Palm OS 4 or higher with an Internet connection.

RE: Free? still too much.
For starters, it requires more than 1.5 megs to run, and everything it offers is available via Blazer anyway. Who needs yet another 'front end?' Isn't this what WebOS is precisely designed to avoid?

Weather
I liked it-not worth paying for tho- the weather screen is nice-
is there a good mobile weather site with the basics today 3 or so days on one nice tight page?
wunderground is not bad- would like the basics above the fold though.

i usually use the NOAA NWS site for weather. I have a bud that works there.
Article doesnt appear to be correct - retraction?
I still cant user 411, Travel, Maps Assist. They say i still have to subscribe. I found the On Demand front end from Sprint more useful. Why are we being pushed Express? Do you actually think I can afford to pay for this crap? Im almost as dissapointed as i was with the Documents app. The reviews boasted a free version of Documents To Go but everytime I launched it I get a screen stating "Register the software for a free upgrade". After doing so it upgraded me to a trial version of Documents To Go. Now I cant use the Documents software at all. Thanks for nothing.... I like the centro, but someone is making stupid decisions....
