He only said "phones", not handhelds?

As far as Palm is concerned "phone" and "pda" are one and the same thing. The PDA is dead, long live the smartphone. Call it economic necessity or something meaner, this is the way things are going. If you ain't on the board of directors, or a PalmOne marketing VP, you're @#*t out of luck.

Happy Whining to you!

I think Palm is about dead as far as I'm concerned. #1 on the list, I want a PDA, period. If it could connect to my mobile service, that'd be great. Quite frankly though, this Palm Linux is no where near out, so give that almost a year. At least another six months after that till it might appear on a device. Then a year to a year and a half after that till Verizon would actually support the device.

So, if three years from now is the best we can hope for from Palm, all is lost. I tried to be optimistic, but after the T5, I just don't know what to think. It is 2005, and they still can't come up with a dual Bluetooth/WiFi device, no Cobalt devices, and now they've sold out to the mobile phone industry.

Where's the zen now Palm???

I want to keep both separate and like it much better. I have had the T3 and the Zodiac2. I was able to connect the Zodiac2 with my bluetooth phone to pull down emails. I do not get on the internet on my handheld, so that is not needed. The Zodiac is a nice device, I just wish it had more productivity applications that work with it. There are places where I do not want a phone and just the pda. Also the screen size makes a big difference. The landscape is nice for reading.
Ok. Enough of this.

I have read on this forum time and time again about Palm is Dead, Where's Cobalt, PLinux is waste of money.

I thought this was a place for Palm ENTHUSIASTS, not people prematurely mourning a damn fine OS and series of handhelds. So Cobalt isn't out yet. So what? That doesn't stop you getting the perfectly fine Tapwave Zodiac. There are still plenty of T3's and high-end Clie's on eBay. Psion went under almost three years ago and there's still people who swear by their 5mx's.

Patience people. The new handhelds and Cobalt will be worth the wait.

Not that we haven't heard that line for years, too. After all, that's what people told me when the rumors of the T3's successor started flying. And we all know how that turned out.

PalmOne - so much potential these days, yet so little product.

I should say that I still have both the T3 and Zodiac2. I think they are great. My wife uses the T3 and loves it. She is not a handheld lover at all. In fact she did not like them a year ago when we met. The Zodiac2 has plenty of power and design. I take it to meetings and get more looks on how cool it is.

Just fixed my one problem with my word and excel, so all is great. I leave my laptop at work and just take home my handheld. I should also say that I have a wireless keyboard and bluetooth phone, so I have my desk with me all the time. The Zodiac2 has plenty of storage room and the games are nice. Bejeweled, Flames and Mummy are great for relaxing.

I would prefer a very basic phone with Bluetooth, and a PDA. That way I can just leave my phone in my pocket and still connect to it if I need to, through bluetooth. And if I loan my phone to someone, I don't have to also give them my PDA. That also leaves open the option of using my bluetooth phone with my laptop, withouth having to connect through my smart phone.

I'm just not totally sold on the PDA Phone combination. I know it works for some people, and I'm glad for them, but It doesn't really fit my needs yet.
