You can't unless you plan on attending the keynote. Apple won't be streaming the event live as they have in the past. So that means you'll have to monitor live updates via Mac news sites. My fingers are going to hurt like hell tomorrow from hitting CTRL+R repeatedly.

They aren't showing the Keynote live? Actually, where is it? Lets send Ryan, he lives in Calif. Is there a link with the keynote info?

Nope, no live stream. However, Apple will be offering a recorded video stream later tomorrow. So you can still watch the keynote, but it will be several hours after its conclusion.

Ah thanks, I've been watching the WWDC since the one in Paris. I finally got a Mac on August 30, 2005 :)

UMTS WM Treo on way

Surur @ 1/12/2006 4:49:13 PM # Q
Just listened to Needham conference call.

A few things of note.
1) There will be more POS Treo's
2) There will be more WM Treo's
3) WM allows them to use advanced Radio technology (EVDO/UMTS)
4) WM is aimed at Europe
5) They have partnered with a large international carrier, and want to focus on increasing their worldwide presence.
6) He did not even mention any other OS's

My Conclusions:

a)There is no EVDO Treo 700p
b)The Hollywood (antennaless design) is WM, has UMTS, and is targeted at Europe.
c)The Lowrider will be a cheap device with a NEW formfactor. It will be POS.
d) No Linux Treo this year, or Access Treo either.

They said I only argued for the sake of arguing, but after an hour I convinced them they were wrong...

Two slides from the conference which I found interesting.

Surur;

Nice prediction list...especially for someone who is not even a current POS owner/user! ;-)

My predictions:

A. I agree that there is no "real" EVDO 700P. There IS a chance, IMO, of a MILDLY refreshed Treo 700p (670p) that *WILL* be released for Sprint and GSM carriers. Verizon has already stuck a fork in POS. Expect 64mb RAM, CDMA radio speed improvements (but no EVDO), a 1.3mp camera, and styling cues taken from the 700w. This will give Palm a final bone to throw at hardcore POS Treo users but it will be decidedly "lesser" than the 700w in every way other than screen resolution. I'd expect for it to cost more than the 650 does currently but a good bit below the 700w ($100?).

B. Ditto. Expect the same basic configuration as the 700w with, perhaps, a lower resolution camera (or perhaps no camera at all?-are there big privacy etc. concerns in Europe with cameras on everything?)

C. Expect a hybrid of Treo 600 & Z22 specs for the Lowrider. Expect Palm to go after the "bling" market. If Verizon ever carries another POS Treo it'll be this one. The sad thing is that this particular piece STILL might be a pretty decent success if the quality & pricing are reasonable.

D. No Linux anything this year. It'll be a rather quiet year for Palm as they milk the remnants of the existing FrankenGarnet lineup and push WinMob for all it's worth. I do expect to see, as stated above, 1-2 final Garnet Treos plus 2-3 new Garnet PDAs (T|E2 successor, a Zire 31 replacement and MAYBE a LifeDrive2). I think that this spring they will release Garnet 5.5 that finally gets stability & NVFS speed concerns under control and lets the interim OS that would not die fade into the sunset.

Palm's current lineup shows a Z22, T|E2, TX, LD, Treo 650 and Treo 700w. Of the models above, three of them are still PalmOne branded. Logic dictates that all of them will be replaced by this summer if for no other reason than to bring uniformity to the line's branding.
