Comments on: Wikipedia Made Mobile for Palm OS
Quickipedia is a new application from Stand Alone software. Quickipedia is a handheld client for Palm OS devices for accessing and reading the Wikipedia online encyclopedia. I have found this app pretty useful because if you try to access Wikipedia in blazer and most other mobile browsers the page formatting makes the site nearly impossible to read.

RE: Why buy, when you can use for free?
I agree. Wapedia works just fine, just another blazer bookmark. Spelled 'free'.

ahh wapepedia is a good tool. Quickipedia does offer some nice features too, like being faster and some nice palm interface touches, but I do think it is a little too expensive for what is essentially free content.
RE: Why buy, when you can use for free?
Because:
A) it formats it better (fewer pages),
B) it is faster (my experiences with wapedia show it to be INCREDIBLY slow),
C) it also caches previous pages, so you don't have to be online to see previously viewed pages (not everyone wants to personally pay cell phone providers $500-$600 MORE per year to have unlimited data access).

While this software is not free, it is not expensive either.
It's just another nice app by this outfit.
And before you ask: No, I have no connections with StandAlone aside from buying and using some of their software.
RE: Why buy, when you can use for free?
I've got to chime in here. First, I can't access the Internet on my Treo from several places where I'm likely to use Wikipedia. Second, Wapedia seems painfully slow. And, third, is Wapedia as complete as what's offered here?
Of course, number 1 decides it for me.

Er, can't use this product either if Internet connection required. Guess I'll stick with Tomereader.

legodude522,
If you left the Palm OS, why are you posting here?
Things that make you go hmmmmm.....
RE: Already done :-)
Is there a law that says people can't be interested in more than one mobile platform at a time? Eventually he'll realize the number of compromises necessary to live with the Zaurus outweigh its advantages and he'll be be back to suckle at the withered PalmOS teat. Meanwhile, don't be such a Palm Nazi.
