Made the prior comment immediately after glancing at the photos but ya wanna know something else? Those windows should NOT be blocked by those posters - makes the store look decidedly uninviting. RE: Ahem - Marketing not one of PALM's strong points, eh?SeldomVisitor @ 12/13/2006 8:40:30 AM #
Looks like someone over on TreoCentral "replied" to this subthread:

#1 I'd like--nay, LOVE to have one of those orange stools in my den. I actually quite like the understated "palm" logo on the exterior facade of the store. #2 Are those employees behind the counters cashiers or just bored sales staff or is there some kind of a "Palm Genius Bar" within the store? #3 Finally, why do we keep seeing "entire product portfolio of smartphones, handhelds, mobile managers and accessories" mentioned in the press materials? Did no one @ Palm notice that the "mobile manager" category consists of exactly one (now discontinued) product wearing the old branding & logo? I suppose that's Palm's way of saying tons of unsold LD inventory still exists in the channel. Besides, it makes for a more impressive-looking lineup to keep the LD listed as long as possible. The LifeDrive is indeed the Bernie Lomax of Palm's product line!

You know what I'd like to see at the Palm store? A service desk, where I could get the battery replaced in my Tungsten E while I wait. Or have a broken screen replaced. If the watch place in the mall can do it, why can't Palm? RE: What I'd like to see. DREAM ON, BUBBA. (What r u smoking?)The_Voice_of_Reason @ 12/13/2006 12:32:36 AM #

If the watch place in the mall can do it, why can't Palm? Why would Palm want to do this (prolong the life of your old PDA) when they could just sell you another fresh, expensive device instead? Simple economics, Bubba.

Don't call me bubba, troll. "All opinions posted are my own, and not those of my employers, who are appalled." RE: What I'd like to see.The_Voice_of_Reason @ 12/13/2006 9:22:14 PM #

Shouldn't the "flagship" store have one of those "haven't seen anyone else use them" interactive "posters" that have a large TREO but with a real display that can be pinged via SMS?
I wonder if they're buggy? Or hackable? (giggle) Or the purest of vaporware?

I'm for SURE not a New Yorker - is that the norm!?
Yikes!
[store looks kinda dinky for a "flagship" but, then again, someone somewhere posted that it was 600 square feet - looks about right.]
