what about the Palm TX?

Now the PalmOS Treos need 802.11g support... or even 802.11n support once the draft is ratified. Given their track record they'll probably announce a super fast 54Mbps 802.11g supported device after 802.11n becomes main stream.

Actually I'd settle for any PalmOS device with 802.11g support even as an add-on SDIO card... unless I've been living under a rock and missed one being released.
Wi-Fi? PalmOS Treos don't need no stinkin' Wi-Fi!The_Voice_of_Reason @ 1/8/2007 4:43:41 PM #
Hopefully this can be hacked to work on a CLIE TH55 or VZ90. Slinging to an OLED-screened VZ90 would be KILLER.

I don't trust the cellular companies... According to some forums Verizon is known to terminate people's plans when they were using the windohs sling player due to excessive usage. I think that Sprint will follow suit when they have a lot more people trying to do the same on their network. Especially since they're both trying to push their version of mobile TV.
RE: This sounds great but...
Hmm I think I could be a bit more excited had they mentioned a version compatible with just wifi enabled Palm RE: This sounds great but...
680 with EDGE would have to stream moovies at like 32x20 resolution to squeeze it down it's 2001ish bandwith limitations. FrankyG just aint up to the task of UMTS or HSPDA, so us Treo 680 users are probably going to have to settle for a 4GB SD and a little better planning to tote videos around.

4gb SD? Nah, 8gb SDHC, remember!?!!
Treo 680 users are luckier than you think, Pat!
#1. I see no reason why Garnet cannot support UMTS or HSDPA if it is implimented on a hardware level in a way that makes it relatively transparent to the OS. This could be done by having it emulate a wireless modem and connecting to the chipset by internal USB. Or it could involve some more driver hacking on Palm's part. Of course...that's for the future as the current generation devices cannot do that.
#2. Edge can stream video decently. Not extremely well, but decently. Anyone ever seen MobiTV on a 650 or 680? Broadcast quality it ain't, but it's usable.
