Quickies: Wired Cadillacs, IIIc Accessories

Wired Cadillacs
2001 Cadillac DeVille and Seville models will have a new "Infotainment" option that allows, among other things, the ability to download e-mail and have it read aloud, a voice memo recorder, and an infrared port for interfacing with your Palm.

New IIIc Accessories
iBIZ has announced a line of accessories for the Palm IIIc: a folding travel cradle, a cigarette-lighter adapter/charger, and an A/C charger. The products are not yet available. They already offer a line of accessories for other Palm models like a keyboard and a folding cradle for Palm V series, III series and VII series.

IBIZ Folding cradle

CKMOOSE @ 8/31/2000 3:27:06 PM #
At very least, the IBIZ folding HotSync cradle is available.
I have the HotSync cradle sitting on my desk as I write this.
I picked up mine at Comp USA about two weeks ago.

yeah, i saw them at fry's about two weeks ago too. they're like thirty some bucks though. i think i'd rather get a hotsync cable from palm for twenty bucks and use a couple of forks to hold it up.

This is kind of ironic. I just had to answer some letters about the getAbstract service and admit that I hadn't read their site carefully enough. Then I jumped to these comments and have to point out that you guys didn't read our site carefully enough. If you take a second look, you'll see that iBIZ's new cradle for the _IIIc_ isn't available yet. The story goes on to point out that there is already an iBIZ folding cradle for the Palm III, V, VII series in stores.

CKMOOSE, what do you think of your folding cradle?

First. I stand corrected. It is a Palm III cradle since it doesn't allow for charging. I forgot that little detail...oops!

Second. I like the cradle very much. It's well made, fits the port perfectly and easily folds flat for storage.
I was concerned that it would be inclined to fold up during syncing, but my worries were for naught. The cradle stands up nicely and the HotSync button is very easy to press with a nice tactile "click".
It's a perfect solution for me at work. Charging during the day isn't nesessary since I HotSync/charge with the Palm cradle when I get home.

Isn't it ironic?

It seems ironic to me that the first PalmOS program to infringe on others copyrights (mainly Nintendos but many others) by allowing easy stealing of others hard work was written by the author who unleashed the first PalmOS virus to protect his copyrights.
How many people bitching about WAREZ CRACKERS actually paid for Liberty & every single gameboy game rom they have used???? I doubt a whole lot.
Warez have been around since the beginning of computers, doing something like this isn't going to change it.
I am repulsed by the actions of Liberty's author. He certainly isnt going to see any of my money.
