Hope Rand McNally does a decent job

Every Rand Mcnally piece of software I've installed on my IIIC thus far has locked it up. The Street finder software for the IIIc as well as the City Center software. I've had other people try the City Center software (A V and IIX user and their palms froze also). So I have aproximately $60.00 woth of useless software. At this point I'm really skeptical about their products.

Half Keyboard

Why would anyone want a half keyboard at full price? You can get a full size keyboard from palm that folds for $99 or even a far superior keyboard from landware for $69 and it even comes with a nice word processor takenote and a thesaurus.

GPS

This is just re-released. For about a week sometime ago, they released the GPS for the IIIc. I bought it then, and it has been ok. Just make sure you really want it before buying it. NOTE: It is very s l o w !

Geez, I can't imagine what it'll be like to type on one of these things. As it is, people already have trouble typing with a FULL keyboard; now this one expects you to do it with only half!

OOH a mention in the About Screen!

That is a little rich, lets see.....
You have the idea, give it to us, we can make money off it.

But we will give you your own free copy and a mention.

Hmmmmmmmm

Re: Software Idea Sweepstakes

Let me get this straight...

1) I have a great idea for a piece of Palm software.
2) I send this idea to Pine Tree Software in their sweepstakes.
3) IF I win, they mention my name in the about screen of THEIR application and I get a whole free copy.

Reality: Pine Tree Software is looking for suckers who will send them great ideas for applications. They would hope to get several good ideas, and only be accountable to the winner. From the several good ideas, they write - if they have quality software engineers - several good apps from which they will make money. This is money that the people who came up with the ideas wont benefit from. This is unless they release the apps as freeware, in which case the people are still robbed of a potentially viable opportunity.

Fantastic job making yourselves look really bad Pine Tree.

You could look at it the other way around. Say there's an app you've always wanted but it didn't exist. You could pay someone a lot of money to develop it or get Pine Tree to do it for free.
