Quickies: TV Remote, YadaYada Rumors, Sprint Loss

The TV Remote application for HATcker101 is now available. It works like a general universal TV remote; simply pick the TV's code from the TV Sets Group List or use the PWR button search mode to find the appropriate TV code. It is free but only works with the HATcker.

F---edCompany.com has the following report: "Rumor has it big layoffs this Thursday at YadaYada, and they're soon to expire. Couldn't raise any more dough..." YadaYada, a wireless ISP, did not respond to a request for comment.

Sprint, whose Sprint PCS division announced a strategic alliance with Palm to market and sell wireless applications for Palm's handhelds, reported a consolidated net income loss of $76 million in its first quarter. Still, the Sprint PCS group added 875,000 customers in that time.

We ran a news story on it last week...

http://www.visorcentral.com/page/0-2-961-2.htm

VisorCentral has learned that YadaYada, a licensee of the Minstrel S Springboard module, has ceased operations in order to undergo a restructure of the company.

YadaYada CEO Raj Gupta said that the company is "currently in restructuring mode and will announce a new YadaYada shortly. We are in the process of finding a way of creating a new platform that will continue to use the YadaYada technology for business and enterprise customers."

Gupta indicated that the declining financial markets were to blame for the company's setbacks but is confident that the company will come through the troubled times.

What this means for current YadaYada module owners remains to be seen. With the stock market dipping as of late, we may see a few other companies run into trouble.
