Agendus Mail v5.4 Released

Agendus MailIambic has just released the latest update to their longtime Palm OS e-mail client, Agendus Mail. This latest release brings the program up to version 5.4. While no specific mention is made of Centro support being added in any of the most recent updates, Iambic’s support page does list the Centro as a fully compatible device, so Centro users seeking an alternative to VersaMail 4.0 certainly have a viable option here. Agendus Mail features unlimited wireless accounts, POP and IMAP support, native file attachment support, and integrated SMS functionality. Read on for a full list of changes and more details.

Agendus Mail - Palm SoftwareAccording to Iambic, the following improvements have been made to 5.4 from the previous 5.34:

  • Improved d-pad behavior in message view to allow for better hyperlink selection, navigation, and navigation as a whole
  • Improved the uploading of Sent messages to the pre-selected IMAP folder to occur immediately following a successful sending operation, instead of upon the next Send/Receive operation
  • Corrected the text for attachment/remaining message size for a message that had not fully downloaded appearing twice on the body of the message
  • Enabled “tap anywhere” on the screen for messages in Draft or Outbox status
  • Removed the ability to select more than one IMAP folder to upload Sent Items to
  • Corrected URL not being populated on the new message body when using 'Send Page Address' in Blazer
  • Added all of the 'Save as...' and also 'Mark As Unread' items to the menu of an open message, which was previously only accessible from the message list
  • Optimized scrolling speed of large messages when stored on the memory card
  • Corrected the message list view not refreshing to show new messages once Auto Update completes if in Agendus Mail at that time
  • Addressed the inability to see the preview of the last message in the message list when in Expanded mode
  • French version: Corrected the 'Message' menu list not displaying correctly

Free upgrades to 5.4 are of course available to be downloaded by any existing 5.x version owner. Owners of any previous version can upgrade to 5.4 for a discounted rate. Owners of version 3.x can upgrade for $9.95 and owners of version 4.x get a discounted rate of $4.95. Previous version users wishing the addition peace of mind from the extra security in the SSL version of Agendus Mail can upgrade to it for an additional $5 fee.

Agendus Mail v5.4 for Palm OS is available for purchase outright for $19.95 for the standard edition or $24.95 for the SSL version.
