Posted By: Ryan on Monday, October 30, 2006 9:59:10 AM

ScummVM is a program which allows you to play classic Lucasarts adventure games through the ScummVM engine. This latest updated brings the Palm OS version up to date and includes a number of bugfixes.

Palm OS ScummVMScummVM is an implementation of the SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) engine used in various Lucas Arts games such as Monkey Island, Indiana Jones titles and Day of the Tentacle. ScummVM replaces the executables shipped with the game, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed, provided you already have their data files.

The official ScummVM website has a list of supported games and known bugs. This new version brings the Palm OS version up to date with the latest release. There is also a separate Zodiac optimized build available. It also includes numerous bugfixes, updated game support and better support for international versions of the games.

ScummVM requires roughly ~750k of free RAM and addional space for game roms. The emulator is free and released under the GPL, with the source code also freely available. The application runs on high resolution color Palm OS devices.
