This time around, TCL has crammed a mini vibrator and a microphone into the same casing used for their earlier microphone module. This latest mic/vib module would not have been possible without the Palm programming and hacking genius of ace programmer Dmitry Grinberg of PalmPowerUps fame. Dmitry has managed to develop vibrate notification system extensions for the Palm TX and T5 handhelds so they can be used with this particular module. Dmitry’s drivers are freely downloadable here. Tech Center Labs are currently selling this module for $19.95 plus shipping.
This is an ideal upgrade module for users who do not wish to risk damage to their handhelds by opening their casings and making internal modifications. The module also works on the LifeDrive but only in vibrate mode due to that model’s standard inclusion of a voice recorder and microphone.

Great job Gary. I remember some of us discussing whether or not this would be possible a while back. I guess so! Thinking about Vista? Think again: http://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/~pgut001/pubs/vista_cost.txt Want an alternative? Try this: http://www.ubuntu.com/ or http://www.mepis.org/ RE: These Guys are Good.
I agree... it's this kind of innovation and persistence that's missing from Palm's current products.

I do wonder why they use such a protruding form factor for this tho? A unit contoured more closely to curvature of the bottom of the T|E bottom and tapering up smoothly to the bottom would allow this to be left in place without snags etc.
Still phenomenal how innovators and bring such to market and sad how incompetent "market leaders" can fade into a flow death spiral.
Oops, gotta run now. My monochrome, OS4, m500 is over here vibrating with some kind of alarm.
