According to a story posted on
GameCentric, Nintendo recently licensed software from PalmSource, though no mention was made as to what specific applications have been licensed, or why. But it seems obvious Nintendo is attempting adapt PalmOS's core organizer functionality to the DS portable gaming console.

PalmSource today announced it has expanded its product portfolio with the addition of four new software products for mobile phones. With the recent acquisition of China MobileSoft (CMS), PalmSource's product line now includes software for smartphones, feature phones and mobile devices at all price points.

We all wondered what would have happened if the Claudia Schiffer edition Palm V continued development rather than being discontinued. Now we know the answer; it evolved into
dispenser for lip gloss. Laugh if you will, but this Palm requires no batteries, and it never crashes...except when you drop it on the floor.

A Smartphone device with a folding screen? Sounds crazy, but it may be what's coming down the road from palmOne. According to the US Patent Office, two palmOne engineers, Rich Gioscia and Francis Canova, recently received a patent on a "Compact palmtop computer system and wireless telephone with foldable dual-sided display."
