Finally there's a review of OS 3.3 over at Gizmo's gadgets. And don't forget to vote for us at MyPDANews.

New Palm web directory

From the creators of MyPDAnews.com comes PurePalm.com. A new directory of Palm specific websites that users can add to, search, or browse. This is simply the easiest way to browse PDA related sites. Check out the directory of Palm sites or if you have your own you can add your Palm/PDA site.

PalmGuru Reviews Survey/Quiz Mate

Name a program for the Palm Computing Platform that allows you to collect survey data and/or create and take quizzes with the portability of the palm of your hand? And the survey says, 100 people surveyed choose: 'Survey/Quiz Mate', by ThinkingBytes Technologies. Head over to palmguru.com for the rest.

MS Findings of Fact

In case you haven't heard yet, Judge Jackson has ruled in his Findings of Fact that Microsoft has abused its monopoly power. You can download the full findings in DOC or iSolo format courtesy of Memoware.

MS Compares CF with Springboards

LA PUG Meeting - Nov. 13

The next meeting of the Los Angeles Palm User Group is scheduled for Saturday, November 13th at 10:30am. We will meet back at the usual location at Border's Books + Music in West Hollywood, upstairs in Cafe Espresso (their coffee shop). The address for Border's is 330 S. La Cienega Blvd. Joseph Kornowski will talk to us about his PalmLaw web site and the Palm Source Developer's Conference. Check out our web site for more info.

Random tidbits

Geekazoid has a detailed comparison of Palm calculators for all the number crunchers out there. The new smaller.com has an article for left-handed palm users. The NY Times has another article on Visor delays. ZDNet is reporting that the TRG pro will hit the UK soon. Read the palmguru's latest review of the iPoint V Stylus. Also I just received an OnHandPC watch/pda and it is a truly remarkable device and it sync's with the palm desktop. Look for a review to follow.

Hawkins insights

PC Week has an article on Jeff Hawkins recent keynote speech Wednesday at the Wireless I.T. show. He talks about HandSpring's shipping problems, color, wap and wireless technologies. Apparently, even his daughters don't have visors yet. Also related is this Red Herring article on speech recognition for cell phones and digital organizers.

Signature protect your Palm

CIC released a program called Sign-On, a log-on/password security utility for your Palm Device. What makes this security app different is that it uses your personal signature to gain access to your device. Sign on the dotted line and you're in.

PDA mart has a recap from the battle of the Platforms that took place at the Mobile & PDA Expo in Santa Clara, Calif. Palm, Microsoft, Psion and Symbian were all on hand to pontificate on what makes them the best handheld OS. Read it here.
