HandSpring feeling the pressure of masses of unhappy and Visor-less people posted a new
customer service section. A few people have wrote in to let me know they received their Visors, yet I am still without mine. If you have gotten yours already
let us know and mention the date you placed the order, so others can get an idea of when theirs should be coming.

Here's an article from ZDNet on the color issue. They provide some more insight into the color question. They mention that the next version of the OS will be out in about 6 months and they are discussing color with their licensees.
Palm Station has some pictures up that are supposedly of the color os running on POSE. I have to admit that I am highly skeptical about the pictures. They could be easily be forgeries. They look good though and I'd like to be wrong. Also HandSpring's
Shipping News page has been updated with a letter from Donna Dubinsky.

Surf to
this page to get the program that will upgrade your flash ROMs to Palm OS 3.3 as well as update Hotsync Manager to 3.0.4. The update allows you to sync your Palm devices twice as fast and gives you new ways to connect to networks and the net. It also adds the Euro symbol to your palm and seems to make your Palm device faster. Two hints before installing:
1. RTFM!!!
2. Disable hacks before doing the upgrade

C|Net usually the first to break real rumors, is reporting color Palms next year. This is an obvious move after the new Dragonballs were announced. The
article states
"Although the weight and price issues still exist, Palm is "confident" in the development work being done to reduce those problems." They also let slip that developers are getting Previews of the next OS, which integrates color graphic application programming interfaces (APIs) for the first time.

This article just made me laugh. It talks about the possibility of Windows CE going open-source to keep up with the
Palm OS and to fend off Linux handheld development.
"As we see it, Microsoft is ill equipped to pursue an open source strategy, because it is counter cultural ... Windows CE looks sicker and sicker with every month that passes and may eventually have to be put to sleep."

ZDNet has an
article on the new 33mhz color-ready chip. They talk about how the new chip should enhance multimedia and support color in future palm devices. They also mention that both HandSpring and Palm are actively evaluating the chips, which will ship in January. They also have a good
article on what's next for palm developers.
