Compaq considering other OS's

C|Net's rumor mill is at it again, this time claiming that Compaq is having serious doubts about Windows CE. The article claims they are "evaluating other operating systems" for their handheld line.

CE Dessertions

See www.theregister.co.uk for more on Everex abandonment of the CE market. This move obviously hurts Compaq in this arena. I have seen 40 of my network custmers move to Palm in the last 3 months. No CE takers during tis time.

It has taken Compaq a while to realize that the PalmOS is the best platform for PDA's. Windows CE is slower,less flexible,more expensive . . . . .The list is long.
