I think I saw something like that on a Marilyn Manson music video. At the very least, you could use one while you were sitting around with your buddies drinking: "Hey Bubba, hold your arm really still and we are going to scribble on this palm and this machine will mutilate your arm". This morning, scores of developers for Pocket PC are scrambling to create the MS version. One with handwriting recognition perhaps?

Am I the only one who thinks the first picture looks like the girl is scared of the thing attacking her arm?

Interesting from the point of view of a numerical control application for PalmOS (the first? can't think of any others), but disturbing from the point of view that there are people insane enough to let this thing loose on them. If you're going to permenantly mark yourself, who would you strap this on and let it rip?

Presumably there are a range of strap sets for affixing this to err... other parts of the body. :)

Yeah, so what, I first started tattooing by computer with a 386 desktop back in '96. All the tattoos on my site were done with this set-up and our new one. The system drove a servo system controlling fluid regulation to 5 small hydralic dual drive cylinders. these control the angular and depth penetration functions. The actual design was controlled by a second hard drive (come-on, its a 386) which runs a converted viynl sign cutter plotter I pulled out of an industrial garbage bin (don't worry it was cleaned). Colors had to be done seperatley so I later developed, with a friend, a new system for colors using a converted eight cylinder ( 8 colors- get it) automotive fuel injection system bypassed from its original computer drive to our unit which converts info from a scanned picture. The actual controls of the original were so simple and successful that we stuck with the concept but upped the computer capabilities, the plotter quality and the machine is now controlled by no less than 11 seperate dual drive hydraulic cylinders. This thing has to be seen running to be believed, its awesome.
