Comments on: Aceeca PDA32 Update: Still Alive

aceeca pda32 In what is now becoming nearly a regular monthly feature, Tam Hanna of Tam's Palm fame has posted another new bit of information regarding Aceeca's PDA32 Palm OS handheld. The latest turn of events for the delayed but strangely-compelling device indicates that some issues have been resolved and the device is VERY close to shipping (Aceeca's emphasis, not ours). This information comes to Tam by way of an Acceeca employee named Alex.

Additional details gleaned from Alex's comment include that the device has concluded its beta-testing period and has seen some improvements based on tester feedback, including issues with the screen digitizer sensitivity. Additionally, demo units of the PDA32 are soon to be shipping out to members of the press. As we mentioned in our previous article on this subject, a beta tester for the PDA32 that suggested that the device was going to be "..even better than I was hoping for", so here's hoping that the almost five years since the arrival of the Palm TX and Z22 brings some welcome hardware advances for the Garnet faithful.

Gekko @ 7/8/2010 10:51:30 AM # Q

2 : a person or a thing that is chronologically out of place; especially : one from a former age that is incongruous in the present

Hey, you had a day to contemplate this since I posted the link yesterday. Guess you won't be in line ahead of me.
I still like the Droid, but did you guys notice the Droid X? Another fab device about to hit the shelf.
Have a nice day!

That X has the beautiful monster display like the Evo, but the Evo looks to have less wasted size on the bezel. Am I wrong?

You are correct. That was one of the cons that was mentioned in the review I posted earlier. The release of these new Androids reminds me of the wild days when Palm released a new one every six months or so. My Droid is only seven months old and is about to be replaced by the new and better.
Have a nice day!

This information comes to Tam by way of an Acceeca employee named Alex.

Also I've seen his signature on Engadget. It says Alex Topschij CEO of Aceeca.

Confirmed that it is Alex Topschij... I found the original comment that he posted

Here is where he says CEO of Aceeca.

P.S. The PDA32 is now shown on the Aceeca website. However there is no link for further details.

P.P.S Looks like Tam's got his hands on a pre-production sample of the PDA32. He's posted a bunch of comparison shots illustrating the dimensions of the device compared to Palm devices.

Is this REALLY the final hardware. If so Gekko's post citing the definition of anachronism is even more apropos.

Looks like something you'd find at the Dollar Store or Toys R Us.

Cobalt?

HiWire @ 7/15/2010 7:36:03 AM # Q
So Cobalt will never see the light of day? Even if it failed to solicit licensors, I'd like to see it released someday...
