Aceeca PDA32 Begins Testing Phase

aceeca pda32 Continuing the long, strange saga of the world's first new Garnet-device in nearly five years, our friend Tam Hanna is now reporting that the Aceeca PDA32 handheld has indeed entered "beta" status and is now in the hands of a few select testers. Despite having missed their previously announced June release date, Aceeca appears to be making slow but steady progress in bringing this device to market sometime in the near future.

Dated yesterday, Tam's article quotes an anonymous Palm developer stating that the device "…is real -- you just can't buy it quite yet…". The poster goes on to say that he has a device on his desk for beta testing and first impressions are "…even better than I was hoping for!" There is still some system software work to be polished before it is ready to ship." The excerpt concludes with another affirmation that the device is indeed real and heading to market.

Thanks to BalthazaaR for the tip.

Looks like there is more recent news on this device. Hope they hurry up and get this thing out. I would like to get one if the specs are updated. I'd like to run garnet on a modern cpu. Read here...http://tamspalm.tamoggemon.com/2010/07/04/aceeca-speaks-up-on-the-pda32-and-mez1500/

what, is it 2005 again? If you want to run Garnet on a modern device, I'd suggest the Nokia N900 with Access Garnet VM. At least you get a decent phone as well.

Access Garnet VM won't run my necessary Garnet program. Already checked it out. Plus you wouldn't believe the Garnet progs I have on a sd card. Tons of them and quite a few dollars tied up.

And in addition compare the cost of N900 to the one we're discussing. I have all the bases covered in phones. Palm Pre is my primary phone, Droid is my wifi device for other advanced stuff that the Pre doesn't do. Droid was for also seeing first hand the Android os. Bottom line... I'm curious.
