Comments on: Treo 750 Nearing EOL Status

Coming on the heels of the announcement that the WM6 update for the Treo 750 is no longer available for download is a new rumor that the Treo 750 may about to reach EOL status. TreoCentral is reporting that the 750 has quietly been removed from both the Palm and AT&T online stores, though the unlocked version is still available at a $529 pricetag that nearly equals the far more appealing Treo Pro. A recent visit to a local AT&T corporate store revealed the 750 display model still present but no units in stock for sale, according to a sales rep.

Treo Pro on ATT?

A Treo Pro on ATT could make me take a walk on the dark side. My 680 is still quite usable, but wiFi would let me leave my TX at home.

Frankly that Treonauts entry looks absolutely absurd to me. I've seen or heard nothing to indicate that any of it is true, and just the feel of it sounds like fanboyish speculation and rumor run amok... no offense.

I shoulda added a huge ;-) to my post.

The chances of us seeing a Nova device from Palm by year's end are higher than the chances of seeing an ALP device from Palm. I really cannot believe anyone's giving this rumor a shred of credence.

I haven't been following the various carriers' "coming soon" rumors however there is a major confusion, apparently, between the "Treo Pro" and the "Touch Pro" that might be fueling some or all of them.

Which, of course, brings us to the question on HOW "Pro" was not trademarked or something to protect either HTC or Palm...

It remains a giggle, too, that BOTH devices are from HTC...
