Aside from the evergreen Treo 700wx on Verizon, the 750 remains Palm's oldest current smartphone. Replacing the 750 with the new Treo Pro would appear to be a logical move but to date nothing more than rumors have indicated that Palm's flagship device will be appearing in subsidized form on any domestic GSM carrier. Originally launched in September 2006 with Windows Mobile 5.2, the Treo 750 is now well over two years old. So despite the presence of the WM6 update released last fall, it is beginning to look a bit long in the tooth relative to not only competing handsets but even its newer Windows Mobile-powered Treo sister devices, the Treo 800w and Treo Pro. For comparison purposes, a list of AT&T-specific changes for the recently-discontinued WM6 update can be found in an AT&T internal presentation covered here.

A Centro Pro runing a beefed-up Garnet 5.9 for AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and unlocked GSM would be even better. But not to worry...we're getting a GSM Centro 2 from Palm in just a few weeks' time running ALP 3.0!! : http://blog.treonauts.com/2008/10/mystery-new-pal.html Pilot 1000->Pilot 5000->PalmPilot Pro->IIIe->Vx->m505->T|T->T|T2->T|C->T|T3->T|T5->Zodiac 2->TX->Verizon Treo 700P->Verizon Treo 755p RE: Treo Pro on ATT?AdamaDBrown @ 11/3/2008 8:28:55 PM #
Frankly that Treonauts entry looks absolutely absurd to me. I've seen or heard nothing to indicate that any of it is true, and just the feel of it sounds like fanboyish speculation and rumor run amok... no offense. RE: Treo Pro on ATT?
I shoulda added a huge ;-) to my post. The chances of us seeing a Nova device from Palm by year's end are higher than the chances of seeing an ALP device from Palm. I really cannot believe anyone's giving this rumor a shred of credence. RE: Treo Pro on ATT?SeldomVisitor @ 11/4/2008 3:50:50 AM #
I haven't been following the various carriers' "coming soon" rumors however there is a major confusion, apparently, between the "Treo Pro" and the "Touch Pro" that might be fueling some or all of them. Which, of course, brings us to the question on HOW "Pro" was not trademarked or something to protect either HTC or Palm... It remains a giggle, too, that BOTH devices are from HTC... hkk, I figured you weren't being serious, but it distresses me that Treonauts is. SeldomVisitor's concept is finally kinda/sorta coming to life!

Off the top of my head I can think of: The original Pilot/Palm III snap-on modem: The various m500 & Palm V-era wireless "sleds" (too numerous to mention-Omnisky Minstrel, Xircom wi-fi sled et al): The Sony Clie clip-on game pad: The snap-on Visor Prism game face controller: World Wide Widget Works Palm III-series gamepad: Palm's own i705 mini thumboard: Numerous other snap-on mini keyboards for the Palm V/m500 from Palm as well as Belkin, Targus etc:

Oh, pretty cool.
Note, however, that somewhere around a year after making that first TreoCentral post, I changed from "attached" to "no need to be attached - just communicating": - http://discussion.treocentral.com/showpost.php?p=338530&postcount=9
