Google first rolled out its own My Location services last November. Google's official Windows Mobile client supports the feature, however Palm OS devices require a future ROM update to support the service and Palm has only committed to releasing an update for "newer Palm phones."

It worked pretty well for me in Palo Alto; it was off by about a mile.

Reporting from San José, Costa Rica (Central America): 2.3 km -about 1.5 miles- from actual location! Very impressive, thought OS didn´t allowed at all... and the legend lives on!
Tried it on my unlocked 680 (in Oz). No go - just said to me "location cannot be found" or somesuch other thing. Shame.
RE: No good here
Might want to try again Tim. Worked for me (also Oz). Have to install the Beta version of google maps. Mind you the location I got was a couple of km from my actual location as others seem to be reporting.
RE: No good here
still no luck. Exact error message is "Unable to determine location." Which telco are you with? i'm on optus.

Same here, registration was a mess but it more or less worked once I got past that process. According to MyLocation I'm near the old Hawthorne Works Shopping Center in Chicago, about 0.8 miles from my actual location.

I'm still betting that ONLY the latest & greatest POS device (aka the various Centros) will see any official fixes from Palm. Treo 700p and 755p owners who paid 3x to 4x for their devices over the cost of a new Centro are going to certainly be furious but I have to say that I'm not the least bit surprised...at least there's this fine alternative to GSM 650 and 680 owners!
