Comments on: Dreadling released
The much anticipated 1st person shooter game, Dreadling, has been released. There is a shareware demo to try out and the full version comes with a level editor for $19.98. It incorporates a 3D ray casting engine which can perform 4 level grayscale texture mapping and doors. Thanks to Sfitz, Deus Noctis and Tom for writing in with the news, I posted their write-ups below.

Top stuff!
OS 3.5
Just to let nerdtech know, Dreadling runs fine on my IIIx with OS 3.5, so maybe there's some conflict with the IIIc itself. I'm betting on some third-part app, or maybe simply lack of free memory.

I had the same problem as Nerdtech, running a Palm IIIc and the shareware version. I disabled all my hackmaster hacks and set Cruise to Slow, still no dice. I have the Palm foldup keyboard deal and disabled the keyboard in the keyboard app, then poof, it worked fine.
RE: DREADling is good!
yesterday I downloaded the shareware version of Dreadling to my Visor Deluxe, it works great, It helps me get through the boring periods in school, no bugs so far, hopefully it will stay that way. Thanks to James McCombe for the great game.

I have a IIIc and run hackmaster, fonthack and keyboard hack...Dreadling ran just fine. Pretty speedy. I'm impressed by the game play and smoothness of the scrolling, but the characters do not render all that well...and before anyone gets upset, I must qualify my statement in that as far as the Palm graphics go, they are quite an accomplishment. Mr. McCrombe (sp?) deserves MAJOR kudos and I will be shortly plopping down the $20.
Great Game!

Must have! I have played it on my palm IIIc all day! Must have for all palm fanatics! Let see some great level editing!
RE: Great Game!
Yeah! I agree. Rocks on the IIIc! CruiseControl is a must for smooth gameplay. with cruise control enabled there is absolutely no need to overclock.
Also on the palm IIIc, I can play for hours and still have the battery be at 80-90 percent. I play with the brightness set to the left, just above the 'o' in the Done button. This yields up to 16 hours battery life (according to Red Mercury software, makers of Atom Smash).

OS 3.5?
Offtopic but a question. Where'd you guys get OS 3.5? I've been looking and waiting to upgrade my Vx, but they only have 3.3 upgrades on the website.
What gives?
RE: Boring
You have to sign up for the Palm developer program and download OS 3.5 then use the 3.3 installer.
Dreadling!!!
Only just got a Palm IIIx and a week later Dreading is released! Wicked game I'm addicted.
