Comments on: Palm TX Cradle Update Released

Palm has recently released a minor TX update. This software update is designed to resolve an issue with the Palm TX handheld's sleep/wake cycling when used with an accessory cradle such as the Palm cradle kit. I have not yet had a chance to test this patch but it appears designed to address an issue where the TX momentarily freezes up and goes to sleep when inserted into the cradle. No word if this update is compatible with 3rd party cradle products from companies like Brando and Altec Lansing. The prc file is 6kb and intended for Palm TX handhelds only.

other than it still has that stupid delay and now will no longer respond to the hot sync button. Hello? Hot syncing wasn't a problem I wanted to go away, the delay was.

Time to remove the patch. Glad I keep Filez loaded.

Strange!

The same happend to me.
Put on the "fix". No the TX freezes.

Was also glad to have FileZ on board (and on the SD-Card).

Removed the patch. Now it's working again.

I do have only very few 3rd party apps installed.

What so ever. It's up and running again - without the patch. :-)

After I intstalled this patch on my TX, after some hotsync, my TX is locked up and I have to do a soft reset in order it to respond!

Shame on you Palm. You have delayed the next OS for 2 years and we have to still put up with even minor patches.

Same issue here; locks up when inserted into the cradle. I even got got in an endless loop where I could not even delete the patch after a soft reset.

Obviously the issue is with a third party app and not with Palm!

Same problem on the other side of the Atlantic, can no longer HotSync. Solution was to soft-reset and "Delete..." the patch.

Okay it's the same for me. How do we delete it. I can't see a filename that appears to be the patch in my Palm.

Apparently not.

Now you know why Palm could never pull off releasing their own OS. They can't even figure out how to get BASIC functions working with their own hardware these days.

Has anyone ever came up with a solution to this?

My TX freezes randomly in the cradle. The patch is about worthless.
