Comments on: ACCESS Releases ALP Garnet VM Compatibility Kit
The kit supports testing on Windows and Linux. For Windows, it includes an ARM emulator running the Garnet VM environment. For Linux, it includes the Garnet VM simulator. Both platforms will run 68k and ARM PNO application code. Both Release and Debug (with extra parameter checking and error messages) versions are included.

RE: Dead?
RE: Dead?
Now that it's been officially announced, I wonder if Access knew about Palm doing their own Linux even before they purchased PSRC. PSRC management apparently knew, so I suspect it's something they would have disclosed during due dilegance.

Palm OS on Linux vs. ALP OS
What essentially will be the differences between Palm's Linux based OS vs. what ACCESS is doing? Considering the wording of the contract between Palm and ACCESS regarding the rights to Garnet (particularly the part of how Palm must maintain "compatibility" in how they implement it), how different will Palm's implementation be than the "Garnet on Linux" that ALP is doing? From a developers standpoint, how deep will the "access" to Linux go on Palm's new OS?

RE: Palm OS on Linux vs. ALP OS
Sure, you want the warm marketing slogan of Palm OS, but why not slide by with all you want in "Palm's OS"?
