JunglePort is Your Native Guide to Every U.S. City

JunglePort, which we mentioned when it was in beta a while back, is now finished and offers maps, restaurant guides, yellow pages, and local information on your Palm for every major city in the U.S. for free. You can create customized personal city guides, or Safaris, to guide you through the urban jungle. JunglePort's search engine allows you to search restaurants by name, cuisine, neighborhood, price, rating, or keyword.

JungleMap will allow you to search by street address, intersection, point of interest - or automatically find an entry in your address book.

The Yellow Pages lets you search by name, category, location and/or keyword and also integrates with JungleMap.

If you have used JunglePort, please share your opinions about it with us.

tried it but no luck

I tried it, but the palm would not sync after all software was installed. Has anyone else had the same experience?

The same thing happened to me. I installed the software and created my "safari", but it would not sync. I sent an email to JunglePort's tech support, but have not heard back.

*Every* U.S. City?

My dad back in New York raves about Vindigo, which has tons of information about NYC. However, I'm going to school in Pittsburgh, which Vindigo doesn't support. I was excited about JunglePort supporting "Every U.S. City," but alas, no Pittsburgh support just yet. Oh well.

Well, actually what they say is "every _major_ U.S. city". I did a quick check and Pittsburgh now ranks 40th in population. I guess they had to cut it off somewhere. But they've just started out; they are probably still adding more cities.

This thing is awesome. My only beef is that you can only zoom out so much on the map. I had to create several Safaris to get my whole city in.
