TRG Releases Beta of OS 3.5.2, AutoCF v1.1

Posted By: Ed on Wednesday, October 04, 2000 8:32:33 AM

TRG is releasing OS 3.5.2 version A02 in the form of a public beta. Among the most noticeable improvements are shortcuts in CFPro and an approximate 10% speed increase in CF memory card operations.

They have also released a public beta of AutoCF v1.1. This TRGpro tool allows direct access to the CF card from the application menu. AutoCF now supports a public SDK that will allow other developers to control it's functionality. There have also been stability improvements.

These beta upgrades are currently only available by joining the TRGpro User Group (TUG) on eGroups. The TRGpro Web site should be updated to reflect these later in the week.

Hiall,

Would this TRG OS update work on a 3.3 Palm Vx? If so, is there any downside?

Thanks.

besides the fact that it would probably cause problems (like there is different audio hardware and the cf hardware) it is only loadable (right now) via CF card and not serial.

Thanks for the reply. I thought this would be too easy a way to get the OS update.

Would it be possible to use TRGs' CF software to use those homebrew springboards that were recently mentioned? though they look pretty easy to make, there's not software to use them with yet... Admittedly, you can;t do a whole OS upgrade due to the lack of flash ROM, but what about extracting the programs and either putting it on a ROM in the springboard itself, or simply in the visors' memory? thoughts?
