Palm Expands European Offerings

Palm, Inc. has expanded its European enterprise service and support offerings by add a new support service, the Escalation Support Programme. It includes the Palm Help Desk Training Programme, resources for trouble-shooting via phone, e-mail and fax, on-site service exchange units and in the near future, access to the secured Palm Enterprise Support Web site.

Palm will also begin selling the Mobile Internet Kit in Europe for approximately 31 Euro in mid-November. This is the software kit to allow users to connect wirelessly to the Internet using a GSM mobile phone. It allows users of any upgradeable Palm to use Palm's Web clipping service (PQA), WAP, and MultiMail. It also contains an upgrade to OS 3.5.

Palm Help Desk Training Programme
The Palm Help Desk Training Programme provides interactive, on-site classes for staff that manage the enterprise help desk. Topics covered currently include trouble-shooting for the Palm OS and Palm branded handhelds and desktop. Content on new products will be added as the products become available. Training is available for both Windows and Macintosh platforms.

On completion of the training, and as part of the Technical Escalation Support programme, all participants will be eligible to contact Palm's "Help Desk-to-Help Desk Hotline". Through the hotline, enterprise help desk staff have direct access to high level Palm support engineers for prompt resolution of complex problems. This hotline is staffed Monday to Friday, 12 hours daily.

You can read more about it at Palm's site.

Palm will be selling an upgrade to 3.5 for about $20. They said it would be available in about 30 days... about 40 days ago. I wonder where it is?
