HandyGPS Springboard Available Soon

Nexian Inc. has announced that the HandyGPS Springboard will be available this month, making it the first Global Positioning System receiver Springboard to reach the market. It displays the exact time, date, position, and bearing. It also includes a navigation mode, which displays your position and traces it on the handheld screen in a graphic. This GPS system includes UbiGo mapping software, which has U.S. street-level maps. Pricing isn't available yet.

It has the following specifications:

  • All-in-one 12 channel L1 C/A Receiver & Antenna
  • Protocol: Navicom ASCII Interface Protocol (default),
  • Flash ROM updatable integrated software
  • Datum: WGS-84
  • 25 meter accuracy (2drms)
  • Power saving mode
  • 2 AAA battery operation with max. 4 hour life
  • Average 45/180 second warm/cold start TTFF
