SplashData has released SplashPhoto 2.5, the latest version of its image viewer. The free update provides seamless support for Palm m500 series SD cards. SplashPhoto images can be installed directly to an SD card using SplashPhoto Desktop or images can be moved to/from an SD card using the SplashPhoto viewer on a Palm OS handheld. What a great product with great Customer Service

This is by far the best photo viewing software I have ever used on my Palm. Now it is even better. I have 48 images on my SD card and it takes less than 10 seconds to load them all. With PowerRun, It took closer to a minute. The image quality is superb, and you can crop and zoom in on parts of a photo with no noticable loss in quality...up to a point.

I had a problem where SplashPhoto would not show the pictures on the SD card once I exited and restarted the program. I tried every trick I knew to get it to work. The pictures were still on the card, McFile showed them. I emailed SplashData and they responded right away. After a couple of follow-up emails from them asking me questions about what exactly it was doing, they said they would continue to look into it. A couple of hours later, they released version 2.51, which resolved the problem.

Once again a great company, with a great product, with great customer service.

A+++++

It's nice to see a company post its own reviews...

C'mon. Y'know they posted this one themselves. Reads like copy.

PowerRUN was not the right tool anyways. For large
data files, MsMount works much better.

I do not work for the company. I meant every word that I wrote in the above comment. I had a problem, they helped me. I know that seems hard to believe in todays society. I stand by my words. Great product. Great Customer Service.

Screen Protectors

Has anyone used one of these Brando protectors yet? WriteRights did not work for me, felt like I was writing on swimming pool vinyl, and I did not want to waste more money now that I have a different device.

I too have been unhappy with other screen protectors, and I just ordered the Brando one. I'll post my initial reaction here as soon as I get it in.

Support for high resolution

I.M. Anonymous @ 7/1/2001 10:28:43 AM #
SplashPhoto is a nice tools for view photograph in Palm platform as it supports 16-bit color. However, as a Clie user, I hope that it supports the high-res (320x320) as well. Wondering whether next version will support that?

Hope it also supports the 160x480 resolution for the Palm IIIc, M505, and Handspring Prism... ;-)

If you like WriteRights but don't like the writing on vinyl feel, get a pack of the WinCE/PocketPC WriteRights. They fit my Visor and Palm III screens fine (Palm V and m100 users are out of luck, I guess...) and they have a smooth surface. Dunno why they decided to make the Palm version with a textured surface...
