Palm, Inc. has created Education Workshops aimed at training teachers and and schools to integrate Palm handhelds into teaching and learning. These will be taught at four training centers scattered across the U.S. by Palm Certified Trainers who are experts in the Palm OS and have years of personal experience as K-12 educators and administrators. Currently, there are two workshops available: "Basic Palm Skills for Educators" and "Curriculum Applications for Palm Handheld Computers". Each of these is one day. They are $200 each or both for $350. Regional workshop providers are in California, Indiana, Texas and Massachusetts. Workshops are at one of these sites or, for an additional charge, at the trainee's location. Related Information: More Stories Like This... I agree as a former teacher, I spent hundreds of my own money on classroom aids and teaching tools to benefit my skills and for the benefit of my students. It would be a goodweill gesture and investment for palm to conduct these seminars free. Teachers could then share their knowledge with their peers. In turn other teachers will purchase handhelds out of their own pocket if they have to. I know they can't do this for every teacher but if teachers were nominated by their administrators and peers to attend these workshops that would be a way to start.

I must say, when I got her grade book on the palm using documents to go, she and her fellow teachers were rather impressed.
