Where the screens are?

I.M. Anonymous @ 1/30/2002 8:18:43 AM #
STNE says nothing about Clie. GetHighTech have digitizer's glass only, not whole screens http://www.gethightech.com/generic.html?pid=127

Looks like you're hurry up too much :-)

They sent me this information themselves. I'd suggest contacting them directly if you need to know more.

The information is listed, but it's only in the online store. Strange, but that's the only spot.

Keep in mind, that Sony WILL offer what they call their "out of warranty" service for color Clie's for $150. Usually if your screen is cracked, other stuff got at least somewhat damaged too (or at least there's a chance). It might be worth the extra 50 bucks to get yours totally fixed or replaced with a refurb, just to be sure you're fixing everything. When I put together the money, I'm sending mine in (cracked glass).

Sony sends a box to you and you send it in to them, and they send it back to you next-day delivery...all covered under the $150. For a $475 device, that's not bad.

In the original news release submitted we stated that we only had the Digitizer AKA GlassTop. We do not carry the complete screen with the LCD. - Gethightech PR.

My friend in US broke his 760 recently. He asked Sony, and they said $150. But a few days later they're called him back and told that it will cost only $100, I just don't know why.

So, I guess that $100 for repair (and not violating warranty) is much better than $70+shipping Do-It-Yourself kit from GetHighTech, isn't it? Although there are much less fun :-)

T615 Blues soon?

mikecane @ 1/30/2002 8:53:39 AM #
A NYC store that I will not name said they expect Blue T615s in this week. If I can confirm that, I will post again.

There was supposed to be a delay? I was in a Best Buy on Monday holding a blue one in my hand! Half of the merchants that come up when you do a search on mysimon claim that they have both colors.

You are either a troll or have a unique form of color blindness and can't tell the difference between the metallic or the blue spectrum.

sad to say, THERE AIN't NO BLUE TO BE HAD YET

I was told by both Best Buy and Circuit City that they will only be carrying the silver T615.

that sort of color blindness would truly be tragic, although not so much as the sort of dementia that causes people to get upset over something like this.

not so sad as people that love to spend time spreading mis-information on these boards rather than contributing something useful.
