Freaky. Something weird happened in our database and replaced the first few characters with gibberish. I changed it back.

Wordsmith conduit

I downloaded the conduit...it's archive is a sea that requires OS 9

I hate it when companies do that. Does it work in X at least?

Or you could drag n drop the conduit archive on top of StuffIt Expander in X's Utilities folder. That will expand it without launching Classic mode.

Or you can change ".sea" to ".app" and double-click to open the archive in OS X. This tip found at macosxhints.com.

Has anyone had any luck using this carbonized WordSmith conduit with Palm Desktop 4 beta for OS X? I tried just now and got this error message:

This conduit is either too old or too new to run on this version of HotSyncŪ and/or your operating system. synchronization failed
'WordSmith' failed (error = This conduit is either too old or too new to run on this version of HotSyncŪ and/or your operating system.)

I got the same message. I am WAY sad. Wonder when they will fix it. Has anyone heard anything one way or another from Blue Nomad?

Holster really useful?

I.M. Anonymous @ 3/8/2002 12:51:24 PM #
Is it really an advantage to have those bulking
up your keyring for the weeks between battery
changes? Seems like if you're going to be
carrying your Palm for long enough to worry about
battery replacement, you could alsocarry a couple of
AAAs less obtrusively.

I usually use masking tape to attach 2 AAAs
tail-to-tail (no circuit) and store them with
my pens. Just rip and go.

The empty Battery Holster on your key ring should also serve as a reminder that you need to refill it.
